As you may or may not know, 1Cat.biz is devoted to the subject of How to Monetize Your Blog or Website. Heck, we even wrote a free eBook about it.
But, we still get questions like this one all the time:
“You know Mr.Cat, the biggest issue is not monetization, I think that information is available a dime a dozen from the mega blogs, the thing that gets me is how to drive traffic. Most experts sing the same tune over and over, even the traffic generation products I buy sing the same tune, but nothing really works or works well I should say. One will earn money if you have traffic, thats just that. So traffic, traffic, traffic, how do I do that?”

4 Reasons Product Launches Annoy the Living Daylights Out of Me

Internet marketing product launches annoy the living daylights out of me.
Here’s why:
1. You get hammered with all these emails, mostly from the usual suspects, deliriously ecstatic about something they have never, and will never use.
2. 99% of the ballyhoo surrounding the big grand opening has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OR VALUE of the product.
3. Ridiculous artificial deadlines, bonuses for action in the first 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc. I personally think this is only to give them bragging rights to their buddies.
How ethical is it to not give digital bonuses to your customers who paid the same price.
Which brings me to…
Easy Link Manager – Creating Pretty Links for Fun and Profit
What compels a web surfer or a person reading their email, to click a link?
Can a link BE ugly or pretty?
The answer is yes.
I’ve always wondered why the people who bought private label shopping cart URLs didn’t rename them after they saw what the links looked like.
Ted Ciuba’s private label cart is called AutoPilotRiches.com. Now this is a great URL for the make money from home, MLM, biz-op crowd, but if you are marketing to, say, pet owners, and your link for more information about organic pet treats is http://www.autopilotriches.com/affid=?1234567 doesn’t that look like you are going to be SOLD SOMETHING?
While there don’t appear to be any testing studies done on this – common sense tells you that if that link was http://www.OrganicPetTreats/YummyForTheTummy – it would get clicked more. Don’t you agree?
