A Tale of Two Blogs – Mistake Number 5 Strikes Again!
May 19, 2008 by 1Cat.biz · 5 Comments
I recently told you about two blogs that I built for two different companies. One is a local roofing company, Phoenix Roofing, Inc., and the other is a custom motorcycle shop, Texas Custom Choppers.
Both of these sites were built using WordPress as a content management system and blog. They were both setup the same way and both have been search engine optimized.
However, one of these blogs, even though it’s only 3 weeks old, is seeing a certain degree of success while the other one seems to be floundering.

WordPress 2.5 – I Like It!
May 13, 2008 by 1Cat.biz · Leave a Comment
OK I’m probably a little late to the party on this one. I have been using WordPress 2.5 on other blogs almost since the day it was released but, I just recently upgraded 1Cat.biz
While there are a lot of changes that some of the old school WordPress users are complaining about I must say that over all I really like the new version. Ok, so I was on a real estate blog of all places and I saw one of the coolest online videos I’ve ever seen. The most surprising thing is that it was created using this free Internet video creation and Web2.0 service called Animoto.
I’m releasing a new eBook next week called “How to Build and Market Killer WordPress Sites”. So, I thought I would use Animoto to create a little promotional video for it that I can post to other video sharing sites using Traffic Geyser.
Today I have two videos for you.
How to Install WordPress on a cPanel Host Gator Hosting Account
I know that for some of my readers this is going to be a ridiculously simple video and you may even wonder why I bothered posting it.
Well, I frequently have people ask me how to install WordPress and what hosting service I recommend.
1. I recommend using a cPanel server. It’s the easiest by far. Plus, messing with other types of servers, in my opinion, just isn’t worth the hassle if you’re using WordPress.
2. I personally love Host Gator. I’ve been using them for years. They’re inexpensive and their support is very responsive.
So, here’s a 4:30 minute video on how easy it is to install WordPress on a cPanel Host Gator hosting account.
