Honestly, Why Didn’t Someone Think of This Before?
If you’re an online business newbie who’s dead set on doing your own web site design and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or if you just want to check up on your webmaster to make sure he/she is doing it right, then here’s a great site for you. Honestly, I can’t believe someone didn’t think of this earlier. It doesn’t surprise me however that it did come from one of Court Tuttle’s blogs.
One of the biggest questions newbies have and one of the most important, on-page, factors that can most dramatically affect your search engine rankings is keyword placement. If you’re confused on where you should include your keywords and why then here’s a site that’s going to answer those questions for you. It’s called http://placeyourkeywordhere.com/
All you have to do is go to the site and look for the phrase “Place Your Keyword Here”. Then guess what you do? That’s right. You go back to your own web site or blog and make sure that you have your main keyword in the same places. Wow! It’s like paint by numbers only with keywords.
Enjoy, Barry O.
Why Do Your Web Site Visitors Think You Suck?
January 13, 2009 by 1Cat.biz · 2 Comments
This past weekend I had the pleasure of watching one of the most interesting and informative videos on web analytics I’ve ever seen. Yes, that’s right I used pleasure and web analytics in the same sentence.
For many, myself included, understanding web analytics can sometimes be a daunting task. I mean honestly, what do all those numbers really mean?!? Most importantly, how can you use that data to better understand your visitors behavior and make the necessary adjustments to improve your online business’ bottom line?
The presenter in the video is web analytics expert, Avinash Kaushik. Two things I immediately like about this guy are:
1. He’s not a “guru”. He’s a “geek”. (I mean that as a compliment.)
2. He’s a “geek” that understands business and marketing. (He can take all of those numbers and use them to make money.)
Do You Digg? Well Dig This!

If you’re into social marketing and Web 2.0 then you’ve probably heard of a little social news site called “Digg”. If you own a web site or blog and you’re not into social marketing then, you should be. It’s one of the best ways to draw attention to your site, build back links and gain loyal followers.
One of the problems with Digg though is that it’s so big and so popular that unless you’re a top tier blogger it’s very difficult to get on the front page and get any real attention. Plus, Digg is just one site. To be successful at social marketing you really need to diversify your Web 2.0 portfolio and participate on as many sites as you can that are relevant to your niche.
Well, over the holidays I got a little bored / curious / adventurous and decided to create my own Digg style social news site for controversial topics only.
It’s called AllThingsControversial.com
