Voluntary Benefit plans are becoming more popular all the time as employers try to round out their benefits packages. The ever-increasing cost of health insurance is forcing employers to raise insurance deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, etc… in order to keep their insurance costs affordable and still stay in business. The increasing popularity of these voluntary benefit plans is due to the employee’s efforts to fill in those gaps that are left by the change at very affordable rates. Some examples of these voluntary benefit plans would be accident plans, bridge plans, cancer plans, and catastrophic insurance plans just to mention a few.
