If you are somewhat familiar with the concept of blogging, then you know the general functional elements that go into a blog. It starts with a domain name, then a hosting company, then we need blogging software, and then we need content and traffic.

Pretty straight forward, right? However, there are less tangible elements that every successful blogger should consider, before setting up a blog:

1. Vision. What’s your vision? What will you blog about and who will you blog to?

Having a clear and concise “picture” of what your blogging goals and purpose are is critical to your long-term success. Too often what happens is that a blogger will “think” they know what they are going to set out to do, and basically how they are going to do it. Then they find themselves on the “Super Information Highway” where information, ideas, irresistable offers and just plain “stuff” begins pouring in and they easily and quickly find themselves distracted and way off course.

Instead of spending the next 6 months, or more, fumbling around, aimlessly, trying this and trying that, and getting nowhere, create a roadmap of exactly where you want to go and how you plan to get there.

2. Passion. What do you love to talk about? Not what do you necessarily “know” the most about, but what do you get truly excited about?

Many blogging “guru’s” will tell you to find a niche that is profitable. They don’t encourage you to consider the topic, or the content of that niche, or your personal interest in that industry. And while this may work for a small percentage of bloggers, it does not work for most.

Think about it. When you visit a blog, and read the content, can you, or can you not immediately tell the difference in the content between passion and information? If it’s facts and figures, statistics and details you need, then there are plenty of “informational” sites from which to get that stuff.

Then there are those sites, and particularly blogs, where you go for more than just “information.” There’s emotion and insight and opinions and contrast on a blog that is managed by someone with passion. Passion that shines right through in their content and their online “voice”.

When you blog from a place of passion, you will find that your blogging “tasks”, mainly filling your blog with content, will be a much more enjoyable and effective process and your readers will be more responsive and loyal as they begin to connect with you.

3. Commitment. Are you prepared to make the commitments required to create and manage a successful blog?

It’s certainly one thing to put all the functional elements in place, but what happens next is where most bloggers are blind-sided by the realities of blogging.

There’s content. Lots and lots of content. Whether you write it yourself, hire outsourcers, or use Private Label Rights (PLR) material, it requires an on-going commitment to provide your readers with fresh, updated material that keeps them coming back for more.

Then there’s building and maintaining a relationship with your readers. Staying in touch and on top of the dynamic aspects and elements of your niche. Keeping their interest and building your credibility and their trust.

And of course, there is marketing. You can’t just simply create a blog and expect it to be flooded with visitors without putting some effort behind it.

So knowing and being prepared for the many different commitments necessary to successful blogging is critical to your long-term success.

4. Content. Where will you get your content from? Will you write it all, or will it be a combination of sources?

As mentioned previously, content is a driving factor behind all successful blogs. Fresh, informative, passionate, updated content is what drives new readers and keeps existing readers coming back.

Having a clear and realistic understanding of where your content will come from, and how you will present it, and how often you will provide it to your readers are all very important elements to consider before you begin blogging.

5. Systemizing and Scheduling. What days will you post? What days will you market? What days will you perform maintance tasks?

One of the most ineffective ways to manage a blog is “on-the-fly”.

If you were to have an “inside look” at any successful bloggers daily blogging routines, you would quickly discover that there is a very organized system in place that revolves around a very specific schedule of when they do what.

Recognizing and respecting the time factors that go along with posting, marketing, and building prospect relationships, is maybe one of the most important factors to getting your blog from point A to point Z, in a timely and profitable manner.

There are many blogging tasks that are most effectively executed in a timely manner. There’s a certain order to tasks and a specific timeframe to their implementation. Knowing what these tasks are, and how to systemize and schedule them effectively, will make all the difference in your blogging results.

6. Marketing. How will you market to your audience. Where will you market? Do you know the blog marketing landscape and understand how to use it to your benefit?

The main thing about blog marketing is to first and foremost have a clear understanding of who you are and what you have to offer.

A successful blogger strives to become an “authority” in their niche. They gear their marketing towards building credibility and trust with their target audience. Your blog should be perceived, through your marketing efforts, as the “go-to” place for your market, and they should quickly and easily be able to determine that you are their preferred source.

Understanding the marketing landscape of today, for blogging, is imperative, if you want your marketing efforts to be productive, and profitable. Today’s online marketing landscape is quite different from years gone by, and requires you to be creative, intuitive, and most of all….diversified.

The worst thing any blogger can do, that is serious about long-term success, is to put all of their marketing efforts, attention or money, into one single marketing campaign. Or to focus on one sole marketing channel to support their long-term growth.

Your marketing should be modular in nature in that it builds upon itself so that you create a solid and long-term foundation from which to draw upon, and build upon, far into the future.

7. Blogging tools. What do you really need to blog? How can you maximize the tools you’re using?

Compared to other businesses, blogging is one that actually requires very little in terms of initial investments, especially when you consider one of the largest and most effective tools a blogger needs is available to them for free.

WordPress is the most effective blogging platform available today. It’s the most popular for many reasons. It is very functional and customizable. It has built-in optimization elements and features that dramatically reduce the need for you to be an optimization expert. It’s intuitive and user-friendly, and best of all, yes, it is available to everyone to download for free.

Beyond WordPress, there are a few other tools that every blogger will want to have in their “toolbox” including a good username/password/profile management program. A strong and reliable blog tracking program. And a spreadsheet program to manage your blogging system and schedule.

There are additional tools that many bloggers are drawn to, that are not highly effective, and will prove to waste your time and money. For example, mass submission programs or services. Do not let yourself fall into the traps of those offering to submit your blog to hundreds, or thousands of places, for what seems to be a reasonable amount of money. They simply don’t work and there are much more effective and productive ways in which to market your blog and spend your money.

8. Collaborating. Who is your competition? How can they help you, and you help them?

In today’s online world it’s quickly becoming less of a dog-eat-dog and more of a banning together among bloggers of the same and similar industries.

There are more and more “syndicates” being formed where online merchants in the same niche are pulling their resources, ideas and audiences together, in very beneficial ways. By joining together they can leverage each others strengths, and help others strengthen their weaknesses, and still benefit.

The target markets benefit because now they have even more information, products, and services, provided to them in one central way, sometimes in one central location. This can be a very easy and quick way for a new blogger to build their blogging business in a relatively short amount of time, and leverage off of others in a mutually satisfying way.

9. Costs. What will it cost to create and manage a blog?

Of course, common sense tells us that it will cost far less to create a blogging business than it would a brick and mortar one.

However, there are still costs involved and those include, domain registration, hosting, possibly some freelance help with writing, or a monthly fee to maintain a Private Label membership for copy, and then there may be some software costs and finally marketing.

One of the main advantages of a blogging business is that you can decide whether you have more time to invest, or more money. If you are short on cash, then you may want to consider performing those tasks that you can do yourself, for the time being. If you have less time and more cash available, then you can pay for more of what needs to be done.

Either way, you have the freedom to choose what works best for you, and a blog can be setup and managed on a very small budget, if necessary. Take the time to consider these 9 essential blogging elements, and you will discover an effective and profitable road to your blogging future and success.

The question “How to make money blogging” sits high on every blogger’s mind. In fact I received many questions on “How to make money blogging” when I conducted my first webcast to answer my subscribers’ most pressing questions on Blogs and Rss.

You can make money Blogging in a number of ways, and in this article I share with you up to nine strategies in which you can make money blogging.

1. Make Money Blogging by Selling Advertising Space

Before the advent of Blogs, we have e-zines and selling advertising space on ezines was a popular way to earn extra money. If you run your own Blog, you can let others advertise in your Blogs with banner ads, solo ads, sponsor ads, classifieds and so on.

Now that we have Blogs, you can repeat the same business model that e-zine publishers do, that of selling advertising space.

One popular advertising company that helps Bloggers look for advertisers is Blogads (www.Blogads.com).

Besides placing advertisers ads on your Blog, you can also make money Blogging by placing Google Adsense into your Blog.

In my “Marketing Rampage with Blogs and RSS” Videos, I show you how you can customize your Blog template to include the Google Adsense into your Blog template so that you can make money blogging.

2. Make Money Blogging by providing technical services such as Blog hosting or setting up Blog

You can also earn money blogging by providing technical services such as helping people to set up their Blogs or providing your own Blog hosting service.

One example of this is www.typepad.com . This is a Blog hosting service provider that charges a monthly fee. Typepad lets you create your Blog and they will host your Blog for you, and provide you with a number of Blog features.

3. Make Money Blogging by setttin up joint venture marketing

Joint Venture marketing is a powerful marketing strategy employed by many top online marketers.

Basically how joint venture works is this: You promote person B’s products to your subscriber and customer list, and you get a cut from whatever sale that follows from this promotion.

You can apply the principle of joint venture marketing to Blogs as well. If you have a substantial readership to your Blog, you can also promote or endorse certain products to your Blog readers and this way, and split the profits from the sales generated. This is another way to make money blogging.

4. Make Money Blogging from using the Membership model

Over time, if your blog has lots of postings and provide good quality content, you can consider turning it into a membership site and charge access for it, again giving you another avenu

5. Make Money Blogging by turning your products into

Another way in which you can make money blogging is to repackage your Blog contents into an e-book or an audio product and sell it. For example, if you run your own Podcasting show or an ‘online radio show’, you can easily compile your podcast recordings into a CD compiliation and sell it.

6. Earn Money Blogging by Swapping blogs

You’ve heard of ad swapping when it comes to e-zine publishing, where publishers publish each other’s ads in their own e-zines. This way, you save on adveritising costs.

You can repeat the same model to Blogs, as swap ads on Blogs as well. So instead of paying up front, you get to save, which means more money for you to spend!

7. Earn Money Blogging by turning your Blog content into RSS feeds and sell it as premium feeds

Your blog contents can be turned into an RSS feed. If the content is good, you can look for web businesses that are looking for good content for related topics and sell their feed to them.

8. Make Money Blogging by well, asking!

Hey, who’s stopping you from putting a PayPal donation jar or button on your Blog? After all, there are lots of generous people out there you know.

9. Make Money Blogging as an Affiliate Marketer

Another way you can make money blogging is by promoting other people’s products on your Blog. This is also known as affiliate marketing.

In affiliate marketing, you get paid a commission when someone clicks on your affiliate link and makes a purchase. Depending on the subject of your Blog, you can recommend products that solve people’s problems.

For example, I had a subscriber who asked me how she can blog about cats and make money from blogging about cats.

I shared with her that firstly, perhaps she might want to go niche instead of targeting the broad category of “cats”, and using the example of a Persian cat, which is a niche by itself, she can start a blog on Persian cats, providing valuable information as well as recommended solutions and products to the upkeep and maintenance of Persian cats.

http://www.blog-and-rss-revealed.com/category/make-money-blogging/

Brandon is the author of “Marketing Rampage with Blogs and RSS” Videos and Audio ebook “Blogs and RSS Revealed” that teaches online businesses strategies to getting more free targeted leads, subscribers and traffic, turning them into highly responsive visitors and sales without additional advertising costs, as well as increasing search engine rankings and obtaining quick listings in Google, Yahoo and MSN, by using Blogs and RSS.

Blogging is easy, blogging is fun. And what’s more…it can help your business in a lot of ways. A blog is a frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links in the cyberspace. You could call it an e-diary where you can register your thoughts, opinion and comments on anything and everything under the sun that interests you. Though people had been ‘at it’ long before the term blog was coined; it has gained currency as an effective medium of communicating over the Internet only recently. The introduction of automated published software like “Blogger” at www.blogger.com has been instrumental in blogging success. A blog or a weblog’ is conceptually similar to a website and is accessible to anyone on the Internet.

There are millions of bloggers in the world today blogging away to glory. But blogging can be more than just chatter in the cyberspace. It can be a great tool for boosting your online business’s profitability once you’ve understood how it works and what are its limitations. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weblog#Corporate for some more information.

How to become a Blogger?

The key to learning how to become a blogger is to start blogging! Easier said than done? Not really. There are several websites that can give you information on how to be a blogger. Blogger.com is one of them. You have three options here to choose from:

- Have a hosted service like Blogger allows you to set up an account and fire away in a matter of minutes.

- A remotely installed blog like movabletype allows you to install on a server for a small fee.

- Desktop blog programs like Radio Userland are installed on your desktop and then uploaded to a host. These are usually desktop programmes that include hosting and upgradation for a certain period of time and charge you a small fee.

You can get more information on blogging resources from http://www.blogroots.com/resources.blog.

Also see: http://www.blogger.com/start

Once you have decided what option you want for setting up your weblog/ blog you are ready to start blogging. It is that easy. It could take a while before anyone will notice your little blog in the corner and take you seriously. But you can cut down this time with some great ideas at: http://help.blogger.com/

offers some great ideas on increasing your blog’s readership. There is a Chinese saying, “ It’s a wise man who learns from others’ mistakes”. Read others blogs to see what works and what doesn’t, what are their writing styles etc. It’s a great way to teach yourself and fun too…. you are learning on some one else’s expense.

Guidelines for the greenhorn blogger

Here are some simple guidelines for a newbie blogger. Take a chance with these to increase your chances of success.

Get Blogging: Like I said earlier, the best way to learn blogging is to start blogging.

Recognize your motivation: Why are you blogging? What do you hope to achieve?

Link to other blogs: the best way to popularise your blog is to link to other blogs. So link you must!

Develop a unique style of writing: Developing a writing style is an evolutionary process. Try different approaches and formats until you find one that fits your message, audience, and personal motivations.

Express your personality… let your humour, your perspective on life, and your values shine in your writing.

Be regular with your posting: readers will quickly wander away from blogs that are not updated regularly. So this is very important.

How to profit from Blogging?

Now that you have understood what a blog is and how to get blogging, its time to make it pay. Blogging is a great way to enhance your online company’s bottomline. It is a popular and an easy medium and has potential of reaching millions.

Here are some tips for you to turn blogging into a serious profitable strategy.

1. Customer Interaction: A blog is a good means to keep in touch with your customers regularly. You can keep them updated on new events, happening in your company, new products and services and other developments. the best part is that you can do it more cost effectively and in much less time than other methods like newsletters, customer updates and customer meetings. The elements of interactivity, community and collaboration are key here. Your blog can also serve as a platform for advertising, promotion and even internal communications. One well-known business example is software company Macromedia’s use of blogging to keep customers updated on what’s happening with its products.

2. Query management: With a blog you can receive and answer to customer queries more quickly than an email. For potential customers it is very important to have a sharp turnaround and you can do that easily with a blog.

3. Link to other sites: Linking your blog to other similar, but not competing, sites is a great way to get some free publicity and traffic for your online business. It is also one big reason why Search Engines will grab your site in their result pages. Ask any online entrepreneur what getting quality traffic to a website means and you’ll know what I am talking about.

4. Get Feedback: Getting feedback from your customers on your products and services, on your company practices and other things is one of the most valuable resources you can build. With a blog, it is not just easier but also time saving for customers to leave feedback for you without filling complicated and mile long forms.

5. Get Google to work for you: Selling ad space is one of the most popular revenue streams for online businesses. With Google’s free AdSense service it just got easier www.google.com/adsense. AdSense allows bloggers to display up to three content-specific “ad units” (boxes that can hold up to four ads each) per page. Each time a visitor clicks these ads, you get paid. Need more convincing?

6. Become an affiliate: Your blog can become a cash cow by using the simple idea of becoming an affiliate for other websites. An affiliate basically carries a link to the other site and each time some one clicks on that link, you get a small commission for it.

7. Donations: If you are running a blog that people love to read and keep coming back in hordes, why not ask them for some monetary appreciation?

Put on your thinking cap and let your imagination run unbridled. You will surprise yourself with the number of ideas that will make your blog less of a personal e-diary and more of a digital cash cow. Blogging is a relatively new marketing arena for webpreneurs, but has immense possibility and potential. Be sure to get on to the bandwagon early in the game and reap your benefits later.

Bad and inaccurate information from websites isn’t new. The Internet can be a fabulous tool, but it should not be the sole source of information for any factual writing from blogs, to research for fiction, to magazine or newspaper articles. Anyone can create a website and fill it with text. There’s never a guarantee that information online is accurate or current. That’s why writers and journalists should not rely on the Internet.

Here’s a dead-on example of what can happen if a writer sucks information out of a website and spits it out as fact, never bothering to make a verification phone call or send an email to a primary source.

Once upon a time, not long ago, a guy with a website thought he’d do something silly to see if media would bite an attractive lure. On an encyclopedic website (yes, that really big one), Shane Fitzgerald of Dublin posted bogus information about a well-known Frenchman, movie music composer, Maurice Jarre.

Fitzgerald made up a deep, thoughtful comment that Jarre might have said about life. Unfortunately for some professional journalists, Jarre never actually uttered the words in questions. They were fiction. Then Jarre died.

How Bloggers and Journalists fell into the ‘net

It seems a couple of journalists needed filler for their pieces about Jarre’s passing. So off they went to you-know-what-ipedia, looked the old fellow up and cut and pasted the pithy comment that Fitz had added to the encyclopedia. Not just blogs, but major newspapers and blogs in the United States, England, and India used the quote in their Jarre obituaries and articles, quoting as though Jarre had actually said the words. Ooops.

As a writer, you must understand primary and secondary sources. A primary source is the clichéd horse’s mouth. It’s the woman who pontificated the idea; the man who discovered the discovery. You’re obligated to find their phone number and dial them up. Or send an email. You ask direct questions and receive direct answers which you can quote, without making any alterations, or you can paraphrase if you indicate the paraphrasing.

A secondary source is not the original. Secondary is a he said or she thought kind of source wherein someone heard, or read, or decided what the original utterance or action was. Secondary is Wikipedia, Suite101.com, Examiner, and so forth. You can see clearly how facts get diluted here, right? Did George Washington cut down the tree he allegedly took out? Nope. He did not. Someone thought it was a cool story, so they told two people and so on.

Must Bloggers Abandon Internet Resources?

If you choose to get your lead from the Internet or you’re surfing for a story idea, fine. Mull over what you uncover online. But before you present a fact as a fact – whether you’re a blogger, a Pulitzer winner, a stringer, a novelist, or a freelancer – your obligation is to verify facts you present as facts. Find the horse and get him to whinny at you. Otherwise, folks, you don’t know he whinnied. Sure, print what you cull from websites, but say, “I culled this from a website.”

Do that, and you can call yourself a professional writer of blogs, stories, articles or columns. Anything less, and you don’t even deserve the pennies per article some writers settle for in today’s markets. And that is, of course, why writers and journalists should not rely on the Internet.

by: TJ Philpott

Business Blogging differs from traditional blogging as we know it. In the past blogs were used primarily as platforms on which to express ideas, opinions, and experiences. However as the Internet has evolved so have blogs.

Recognizing their growing popularity with Internet viewers many bloggers have taken to use their platforms as a means to more actively promote for a profit.

The ability to passively advertise to loyal readers while still supplying them the useful content they’ve come to expect has proven to be a very effective promotional marketing approach.

If you want to make money blogging there are 3 steps in which you’ll need to pay close attention to when you create a blog.

1) Layout
Choose a layout or template that best reflects you or the blog theme. When you first create a blog make sure your site is easy to navigate. It is recommended that you also make readily available to your readers your most popular posts. Put them into a separate category or tab for easy access.
This is your best work so be proud of it and allow these posts to continue to work for you!

The popularity of blogging is based upon the ability for visitors to interact with the blog owner thru commenting. Be sure you encourage this and make it easy for visitors to do.

2) Fresh Quality Content
Aside from traffic this area is what sustains the life of your blog. If you don’t believe that, take a break from posting on your blog for a while and watch the subscriber based decrease. With that said POST FREQUENTLY to keep both readers and the search engines coming back for more fresh content?
Your post obviously must be related to the overall theme or purpose on which you chose to blog. Make sure your posts stimulate or reward your readers in some fashion such as useful information or entertaining insights.

Be sure the content you post reflects your feelings or personality. Remember there’s only one you so unleash yourself and let your personality hang out. This is one factor that will distinguish your blog from the rest.

3) Advertising on Your Blog
With a steady flow of traffic and a good loyal following now in place this is the time to introduce a little creative advertising.
If your blog is popular enough you can possibly rent out space to advertisers related to your niche. Take caution not to place too many advertisements on your site. This will disrupt the original flow and feel of your blog that readers have become accustom to.

The ‘suggestion’ of a product within the body of one of your post is another approach you can use to make money blogging. Be sure the product, like any creative advertising you may use, is related to what you’re blogging on and can be useful to your readers.

With reader loyalty you have also gained their trust and faith in you as an authority on the subject matter of your blog. Be careful not to abuse this by overly frequent sales pitches or offering inappropriate or inferior products. REMEMBER your objective is to supply helpful content FIRST. This is why these readers subscribed to begin with.

As you can see business blogging involves a delicate mix between the trust of your readers and your promotional efforts. Always remember to serve your readers FIRST with the good content they’ve come to expect. Your promotional marketing efforts should always assume a lower profile!

Author: Turn Blogs To Cash

While no one knows exactly what the formula for search engine rankings is, we do know that it has a lot to do with how many “votes” you have out there on the web. These votes are counted as backlinks. If you think about it, what do you when you find something you really like and want to share with others? You link to it! That’s why the search engines count these so highly. While you should definitely aim to get to the point where others will link to you, it’s possible to take things into your own hands for now.

Below are some of the top strategies you can use for building backlinks to increase the value of your blog in the eyes of the search engine.

Write Articles and Submit Them

Writing and submitting articles is a great way to build backlinks! There are sites out there like EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com that allow you to post your content with a link back to your site. That means you get to have your link on authority sites! The more articles you write, the more you can submit them. The beauty of this is that you can often submit the same articles to different sites, or rewrite them quickly to have something that is more unique.

Comment on Other People’s Blogs

It’s a great thing to remember that a huge part of blogging is getting involved in the community. Commenting on other people’s blogs will not only get you some recognition from their readers right away, it also counts as a backlink! Keep in might that some of these links are termed as “nofollow”, which means the search engines may not pass along ranking or “juice.” That’s okay, because the algorithms are always changing, and since these links are so highly targeted they are a great thing.

Write Guest Posts

Writing guest posts for other niche blogs is an amazing strategy. People love to let you do this because it gives them a day off from blogging. Readers love it because they get a fresh perspective on a topic they are interested in. You’ll love it because it means you get a link back to your site and all you had to do was write an extra post for the day.

Use Social Bookmarking Sites

Another thing you can do is bookmark your sites. Now, there are some rumblings out there that these won’t count as highly in the future as they do now. Still, bookmarking your sites lets the search engines know “you are there” for fast indexing. If you take the time to make sure the sites you bookmark with are high quality, you’ll get the benefit of those links as well.

Paying for Links

There are many different ways you can pay for links. It is important to know that Google and other search engines frown on this because it’s like you’re gaming their algorithm. Whether you choose to do this or not is up to you, but it can be an effective strategy if you don’t go overboard and aren’t obvious. You can contact people directly or even work through link exchange networks.

Learning how to build backlinks to your blog is extremely important if you want to rank well. Add a few links at a time and they will build up in a massive way over the long run.

Author: Turn Blogs To Cash

One of the main differences between a blog and a static website is the way people are able to interact with your content. With a static site it’s just people reading words on a page. When you have a blog they can explore and even comment back! You want to get that sort of interactive spirit going so you can create a loyal readership with your blog.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy! There are literally millions of blogs out there all vying for the attention of your audience. It can be even harder to grab people’s attention when you’re just getting started. The bad news is that it’s going to take some work and dedication to build up a loyal readership. The good news is that it’s very possible, and even fun, to put these things into place. Follow these rules and you’ll have the kind of repeat visitors and fans that really make blogging worth your while.

Rule #1: Write Great Content

Let’s face it; if your content stinks there is no way people are going to come back and read again! They’ll just click away, never to return. If you write great content, however, you’re sure to get some fans. Not everyone considers themselves to be a good writer. That’s OK! No one expects you to have perfect grammar and spelling. It’s far more important that you write interesting content that stands out from the crowd. Give your real thoughts and opinions on things that matter to the audience.

When you write great content, not only will you have people who want to visit your blog all the time. They will also link to you! You know that more linking means higher rankings in Google. That’s definitely a great thing that will expand your readership base to levels you couldn’t even imagine when you got started.

Rule #2: Leave the Comments Open

It’s amazing — but there are bloggers out there who close their comments! While it can be a lot of work to try and get rid of those spam comments, you’re also missing out on a big part of what being a blogger is all about. You need to let the audience write back and speak their mind too. People don’t just want a website they can read anymore, they want one they can add their “2 cents” to. So, leave your comments open and listen to them. It doesn’t matter if people always agree with you or not (they won’t!), you’ll get a much larger and interested following.

Rule #3: Guest Blog

The chances are good that there are some blogs out there that are very well-liked by the people in your niche. These blogs probably get a lot of traffic and a lot of respect. It’s time to get your name and website out there in front of this audience! All you need to do is write to the owner and say that you’d like to write some guest posts. They will probably be more than happy to take a break from their own posting and to give you a link back to your blog. This will not only give you link juice for the search engines, you’ll also win some of their loyal readers who are interested in what you have to say.

Learning how to create a loyal readership with your blog is incredibly important if you want your blog to thrive. It’s all about the people, and making sure they are aware of your blog and love your content.

Blogging is a great way to earn a living and get your views out there on the World Wide Web. No matter whether you are blogging in order to make a living or simply want to express your opinion on a subject near and dear to your heart, there are 5 blogging tips which every blogger should know and follow in order to make your blog a complete success.

Blog About What You Know

It is really important to blog about what you know. Since you are providing information to the masses and most individuals depend on this information for accurate details, it is crucial that you blog about the things you know best. As far as blogging tips go, this is an extremely important one. You want to make sure not only that the information you disperse to the public is accurate but also that the topic is easy for you to write about.

Take Advantage of Money Making Ventures Via Blogging

Whether you are blogging for work or fun, there are many ways to turn your blog into a money making venture. This is one of the more vital blogging tips as most people want to make some money while doing what they love. Various money making ventures via blogging include affiliate programs, pay per click programs and selling your own products through your blog.

Keep Your Blog Current and Up to Date

In the grand scheme of blogging tips, the following is quite important. You want to always be sure to keep your blog information current and up to date. Blogging consists of new information which is continuously kept current. This will also help you to make more money should you have money making programs attached to your blog.

Fill Your Blog with Helpful Information

Some of the best blogs out there these days are ones which provide helpful information to the readers. Although it is interesting to simply read one’s blog about their life or past experiences, it is even better to leave the blog having gathered helpful information about one subject or another. Filling your blog with this helpful information will make it that much more popular and aid individuals in their day to day lives.

Make Every Blog Entry Interesting and Engaging

The last of these blogging tips which you should consider in your daily blogging journeys is to make every blog entry interesting and engaging. It doesn’t matter what the topic may be, there are ways to spin them so that they interest and engage the readers. This will keep them coming back from more. This means that those who use their blogs to make money will have repeat customers on a frequent basis. You want your blog to stand out from the rest as there are so many different blogs on the Internet. When writing your blog entries, think of what you would want to read on someone else’s blog and what would keep you coming back for more time and time again.

Author: Turn Blogs To Cash

Are you constantly blogging but the numbers you see in your traffic logs are embarrassingly low? It can be maddening to check your stats and realize that no one is actually stopping by. Don’t give up yet, because there are four great ways you can get traffic fast.

Traffic Tip #1: Do Your Keyword Research

Many bloggers make the mistake of thinking they can just throw some posts up there and expect to get traffic. There is a lot more to it than that! You need to make sure you are looking at the keyword data to find terms that are getting a lot of searches. Ideally, you want these terms to have low competition so it’s easier for you to rank. Once you start basing your posts around these kinds of keywords you should find that you’re getting a lot more traffic.

Traffic Tip #2: Write Enticing Articles Off-Site

Submitting to article directories isn’t just a good way to get backlinks to your site, it’s also a great way to get readers! Sites like EzineArticles.com have their own readership of people who are looking for the exact topic you’re blogging about. If you write a compelling article that leads into your resource box, people will be enticed to visit your blog.

Traffic Tip #3: Give People a Reason to Come Back

Getting traffic in the first place is one thing, but what you want to do as a blogger is have them coming back over and over again. The best way to do this is to create special offers or exciting events. For example, you can give away a prize each week to the new people who subscribed to your list or your feed. You can also run a contest for people who leave answers as comments on your blog posts. Make your blog a happening place to be and people will want to visit often and tell their friends.

Traffic Tip #4: Create Linkbait

Linkbait is when you write a blog post that is so exciting or controversial it gets people to come to your blog, comment, and link to the post. You may share some shocking news or offer an opinion you know is bound to stir people’s emotions. You do need to have thick skin when you write linkbait! Don’t expect everyone to agree with your opinion.

An example of linkbait is going the opposite way everyone else goes. For instance, imagine you have an electronics blog and you decide to review the iPhone. After reviewing the product you decide you don’t like it. You then write to tell your readers why. Since this was a product everyone was gaga over when it first came out the chances are good you would have gotten a strong reaction right off the bat.

There you have it! These are four solid ways you can start to increase the traffic on your blog as soon as possible. When you put these methods to work you’ll realize that the secrets to getting great traffic were in front of you the whole time.

22 of the 100 most popular websites on the internet today are blogs. The reason why blogs are so popular is because blogs are interactive websites. Blogs offer the ability to give and receive instant feedback and blog readers can voice their opinion and add to the discussion.

Blogs also provide free information which is recent and changes rapidly and after all, why do people surf the internet? For information, of course. The blogging platform is an extremely easy to use interface where bloggers can upload new information to the internet as often as they like. A blogger needs only the most basic of computer skills to start blogging. If you know how to turn your computer on and connect to the internet, you too can be a blogger. The wordpress platform is a free piece of software that is by far, the best tool to use for your blog.

But why do YOU want to blog?

To answer this question first we need to take a short trip down memory lane and look at the history of blogging.

In the beginning, when blogs actually started, they were online diaries. The term blog is derived from “web log”. People used a weblog as an online journal and talked about themselves, what they were doing, their activities and the events taking place in their lives just as they would in a written personal diary or journal.
Even today there are a large number of blogs that are online diaries. These types of blogs are of benefit both to the blogger and his/her readers. It’s great to connect with like-minded people and share your opinions and views of the world.

Another group of people that like to blog are the ones that have special interests, maybe a cause that they support, a charity that they support, or a specific hobby that they enjoy. They blog to promote their message, and to interact with other people who share the same interests. They want their blog to serve as a kind of hub of information for their readers or target audience. These bloggers collect information from many different sources and present it to their readers in a central place. These bloggers create a dialog or conversation about their special area of interest and invite others to participate via their blog.

The third kind of blogger is the business blogger. There are many levels of business blogging or making money from blogging. It starts with something simple – for example, you might be an artist looking for a way to start selling art on the internet. A blog is a great way to promote yourself and your art. You can discuss art, your passion, you can talk about the meaning of your paintings and you can also talk about the work of other artists that you like and promote their work as well.

Then, of course on a completely different level there are the people that call themselves professional bloggers. Whether they are selling their own products and services, or simply selling other people’s products, they treat their blog as a business. Their blog is their passion and their full-time job. Although they might not spend 40 hours a week on their blog it does provide them with a full-time income and they take their blogging very seriously.

Corporate blogging is also being more popular. A corporate blog is a way for a large company to keep their customers up to date with new products and information. It also is a way for customers to communicate with the corporation and make their opinions known.

An Important Blogging Tip – Consider Your Blogging Goals First

To help you decide the kind of blogger that you want to be, it is extremely helpful to pause and think about what your blogging goals or intentions are.

Here are a few questions to consider:

Why do you want to blog?
What do you aim to achieve by blogging?
Who are you blogging for i.e. who is your target audience?

Once you have the answers to these questions you are in a much better position to start blogging. You now have formulated your goals and intentions and you have a plan. With a plan and a vision you have set yourself up for a successful blogging venture.

In the blogging world it is so easy to get distracted and to get lost in all the different avenues of information. So, when you really understand what it is that you want to do with your blog, then you can start to build on that. It is far easier to maintain your focus when you have a vision and goals to achieve.
If you want to ramp up your success rate then write your goals down and stick to your plan.
