But, if you build a lot of WordPress blogs and try to find a different free theme for each of them then you know the time it takes to figure out all the special little features and sometimes less than friendly CSS and theme code.

Plus, you have to be aware that many free themes not only include bad code and misuse of tags they also include Spammy links to sites that you probably wouldn't want to link to. Many times this poor coding can cost you in SEO rankings and reputation. So, be careful and only use trusted WordPress theme sources.

Using WordPress as a CMS for a Lead Gen Site

Phoenix RoofingI frequently talk about using WordPress as a content management system for building all types of websites. Well, this week I thought I would actually show you a project I've been working on for a friend of mine.

My friend is a local roofing and home remodeling contractor. He wanted a site that looked professional, was search engine optimized, could be set up quickly and managed easily. And, although their not doing it yet, he wanted the ability to add blog posts in the future. So, of course I recommended WordPress.

The first thing I did was purchase Ben Cope's WordPress Dream Theme. I told Ben exactly how I wanted the design to look and within a day or two I had my website design.

Grunge WordPress Theme

WordPress Grunge theme The guys over at iThemes, Brian Gardner and Corey Miller, have come out with yet another very creative and unique theme series. It's called the "Grunge WordPress Theme" and it looks pretty cool.

The theme is available in 3 different colors, red, green and blue. This would be a great theme for a more artistic type of site that wants to use WordPress as a CMS (content management system), as well as, a blog.

I've been a webmaster for over 12 years. And in that time I've used just about every HTML editor, CMS and page generator that was ever released.

Today, I use WordPress to develop 99.5 percent of the website projects I work on. The SEO, Web 2.0 and content management features make it so easy to deploy and market websites there's really no need to use anything else. Almost anything you could want from a website can be easily plugged into WordPress.

I'm too sexy for my theme

There's no better way to start off the weekend than trying out a new WordPress theme. I know, I need help. Or at least a hobby.

Anyway, I've been wanting to do it for weeks and last night I finally bit the bullet. I shelled out the $74.95 for one of Brian Gardner's cool new magazine style WordPress themes. You know, the one that everybody's been blogging about.
