Here’s a little news for those of you who lean towards the geeky side.
If you’ve been doing business online for any period of time you probably already know the importance of selecting the proper keywords for your web site and Internet marketing campaigns. What if you could know the actual intent of the person who is typing your target keywords into the search engines? That would be pretty cool wouldn’t it? I thought so.
Microsoft, of all people, came out with a little tool that will gauge the commercial intent of any given search phrase or web site. You can check it out for yourself here… http://adlab.msn.com/Online-Commercial-Intention/Default.aspx

WordZe $14.95 special – Good until March 24th

Really, once you understand the value of having at least a basic knowledge of keyword volume, history and trends you will start to use this tool for even day to day tasks to enhance your search engine rankings and traffic by targeting words that people are actually searching for.

I’ll be the first to admit it. In the past I haven’t always done proper keyword research for my blog and Internet marketing projects. I’m guilty of assuming that just because I think something is a good idea and I search for it then other people will as well. Heck, I’ve built entire websites and done launches based on “hunches” or “instinct” only to find out later, when doing my keyword research, that very few people are searching for the phrases I optimized for.
Now, before you start laughing too loud and labeling me a complete dumb a%# ask yourself this, “How much do you know about the keywords in your niche?” Read more
