While doing a little light Sunday morning reading I came across this unbelievable article on improving your conversion rate.

The article itself is titled “101 Easy Ways to use Google Website Optimizer”. Don’t let the title fool you though. The lessons taught in this article can be applied by anyone doing business online. Not just those who use Google Website Optimizer.

It’s written by “The Conversion Rate Squirrel” which I suspect is really Dr. Karl Blanks. (Who really is a rocket scientist.)

Anyway, if you want some great tips on improving your conversion rate and marketing your website in general then I highly recommend this article.

I’ll be the first to admit it. In the past I haven’t always done proper keyword research for my blog and Internet marketing projects. I’m guilty of assuming that just because I think something is a good idea and I search for it then other people will as well. Heck, I’ve built entire websites and done launches based on “hunches” or “instinct” only to find out later, when doing my keyword research, that very few people are searching for the phrases I optimized for.

4 Reasons Product Launches Annoy the Living Daylights Out of Me

Here’s why:

1. You get hammered with all these emails, mostly from the usual suspects, deliriously ecstatic about something they have never, and will never use.

2. 99% of the ballyhoo surrounding the big grand opening has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE QUALITY OR VALUE of the product.

3. Ridiculous artificial deadlines, bonuses for action in the first 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc. I personally think this is only to give them bragging rights to their buddies.

How ethical is it to not give digital bonuses to your customers who paid the same price.
